Shared Data

What data is shared between this plugin & engine9

Any type of data that represents an outbound communication, such as an email, text message, or digital ad.

Any type of data that represents a person, including about their origin, interaction, membership in segments, and donation history.

Any type of data that represents a donation or monetary gift. Common fields imported from ActBlue include: amount, timestamp, source code, referring page, recurring status, donor ID, refunds, and tandem amounts.

How to integrate this plugin:

Create an Engine9 user in Looker Studio with Manager-level permissions
Authorize the Looker Studio plugin in Engine9
Data will import from Looker Studio at regular intervals (generally 3x/day)

What we love and don't love so much

Why we value this plugin and things that are not so great.

Pros

Ease of use - LDS is easy to learn, and not terribly onerous to master, to be frank. It's a good balance of powerful and accessible.

Affordable - you literally can't beat the (free) price.
‍

Cons

It can be wonky - sometimes data refreshes and changes in the data source configuration can trip up Looker. Sometimes you'll have to just bite the bullet and remake a chart from scratch in order to get it just right.
‍

Limited support (from Google) - with low price comes bare-bones customer support. We're big users of LDS at Engine9 and we're glad to help troubleshoot as part of our Support packages, but as far as official support from Google, it's FAQs and forums.
